Nelson Phillips Five Guidelines for Giving Feedback
- Focus on specific behaviours and the effects of the behaviours.
 - Avoid generalisations such as “you always” and “you never”.
 - Keep feedback goal-oriented. It’s not about the person; it’s about what we want to achieve
 - Be careful of timing - don’t give feedback when the other person is upset or when you are upset
 - Focus on things that are controllable
